Who in the World is WITWIT Kid?

WITWIT Kid (“Where in the World Is That Kid”) is a co-op founded by Nikki Destina, a flight attendant and mom of four based in Fayetteville. Like many co-op founders, Nikki started this co-op to meet the needs in her own family. Her oldest son came home through adoption at age six but he was behind in every subject. She was determined to meet him where he was and walk him up to grade level on his own timeline. Conversely, her following two daughters were reading by age two. With such varying needs within her family, and a belief that children are far more capable than adults give them credit for, it made sense for Nikki to start something that reflected her values.

WITWIT KID grew from a lifelong calling to raise children who live up to their full God-given potential and a conviction that real education happens everywhere, not just inside four walls, and is more than academics. Nikki had a desire to walk her children through their first big emotions, first hard moments, first failures and triumphs. She believes homeschooling lets her give something rare - the freedom to allow her children to fail and succeed on their terms. That’s what she believes builds real confidence. “Confident kids treat other people well,” Says Nikki. “I’m not raising kids to perform out of fear or shame. I’m raising kids who’ve had kindness modeled for them, who genuinely care about people, and who act with integrity whether I’m in the room or not.”

If this sounds like it captures what you are looking for in your homeschool journey, and you want to join what Nikki is doing, the WITWIT Kid tagline is “More than academics. Real life skills for real life.” They offer sourdough classes, cooking, and crochet, alongside academic classes as well as etiquette, confidence building classes, and stand-up comedy. You can pay for these classes individually as they fit in with your family’s schedule or you can pay for the whole package, one semester at a time. This is a parent-led co-op, so parents are expected to help lead classes and stay with their children to experience the journey they are on. They meet in Fayetteville on Mondays and Wednesdays.
