Who in the World is WITWIT Kid?
WITWIT Kid (“Where in the World Is That Kid”) is a co-op founded by Nikki Destina, a flight attendant and mom of four based in Fayetteville. Like many co-op founders, Nikki started this co-op to meet the needs in her own family. Her oldest son came home through adoption at age six but he was behind in every subject. She was determined to meet him where he was and walk him up to grade level on his own timeline. Conversely, her following two daughters were reading by age two. W

How to Start a Homeschool Nature Club
Several years ago, because of our family’s deep passion for nature and a desire to do something meaningful with friends, I decided to start a local nature club for homeschooling families. The grant was called the VELA Grant, and they were offering $10,000, which could be used for educational purposes for any non-traditional education group. Our group was not a traditional co-op, but we did offer regular extra-curricular classes such as a STEM club and LEGO club. As a group, we tended to offer classes that required a group but weren’t standard

Freebird Farm: A Homeschool Agriculture Education Class
One of the most wonderful parts of my childhood was the time I spent at Freebird Farm located in Fayetteville, Georgia. You don’t meet many people who can say they are able to milk a goat. Well, here I am, and I learned how from Holly Longino. Holly has raised animals her whole life. For her first wedding anniversary, her husband gifted her two goats. Now, she has a full time educational farm. In 2011, she began teaching classes for homeschool students to educate them on farm

Co-op Corner: Wise Eagles
“Community” This is how 60% of the moms described the Wise Eagles Co-op. It rings very true. If you are not familiar with the homeschool world, you may be wondering, what is a co-op? It is short for cooperation, which is “the process of working together to the same end,” according to Dictionary.com . In homeschool co-ops, the moms work together to teach each other's children. The kids are usually separated by grades and one mom will teach a specific subject for a grade level
